In the single-stage process the preform is injection moulded from PET resin in the same machine which will stretch and inflate it to form a finished bottle. Two distinct production stages are incorporated in one machine, with the preform being transferred from one stage to the other while still warm.
Typical machines used for this production method are the Nissei ASB and the Aoki single stage machines, which can both be found at our Injection Stretch Blow Moulding equipment section:
Nissei ASB Injection Stretch Blow Moulding machine take the preform through 3 phases: 1-injection moulding, 2-reheating of the preform and 3-stretch blow moulding after which the finished bottle is ejected from the machine.
Aoki Injection Stretch Blow Moulding machines, however, do not have the preform reheating station/phase on the machine, and after being injection moulded the preform is taken directly to the stretch blow moulding phase, after which the finished bottle is ejected from the machine.
